About Us
Kendriya vidyalaya, NTPC, Badarpur is a Project Vidyalaya financed by National
Thermal Power Corporation. It initially started functioning in 1981. In 1989
the school could boast of a beautiful building with sprawling grounds fully
functional for a three section Vidyalaya.
In 1987, the Vidyalaya was upgraded to +2 level and
the first batch of Class XII Science Stream passed out in 1989. The
Humanities Stream was introduced in 1993 and the Commerce stream in 1995.
Informatics practices/Computer Science is offered as one of the electives in
science stream. Commerce students can opt for Informatics Practices as one of
electives. This Vidyalaya is a Co-Educational institution. The medium of
instruction is English and Hindi.

To provide a healthy environment to the pupil the Vidyalaya building is surrounded by three green lawns and a
huge playground where physical education is imparted through a variety of
games. The Vidyalaya building has four laboratories including One
Junior Science Lab. There are 2 computer Labs in the Vidaylaya.
The Computer Lab has internet facilities giving opportunity to students and
teachers alike to access websites and be at par with the world at large.
